Dr Haslina graduated from the Dental Faculty of Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) in 2003. She obtained the license to practise dentistry in Japan but went back to serve the Ministry of Health Malaysia for six years before joining Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2009. She returned to TMDU and obtained her Ph.D. in Dental Science (Oral Health Promotion) in 2015.

She is now a senior lecturer and head of the Dental Public Health Discipline. She also served the Faculty as Assistant Dean for Teaching and Citra (General Studies) until July 2020 where she explored and introduced several teaching and learning innovations to help Faculty members conduct interactive lessons with students. Dr Haslina is also the secretary of the Malaysian Association of Dental Public Health Specialists for 2020-2022. Her passion is in Oral Health Promotion, Oral Health Literacy and Dental Education.
